About

Jessica is a director, actress, theatre practitioner and artistic advocate who uses theatre to awaken, educate and inspire. She encourages her students to create, express, take risks and release. She sees theatre as a bridge to connect people and cultures.

Jessica is fluent in English, Spanish, Italian and French. She studied Latin for 3 years and Arabic for 1 year. Jessica spent 18 years living in countries where Romance languages are spoken. Jessica has worked on traditional plays in French, Italian, Spanish and English.

One of her favorite theatre experiences was working at the English Theatre of Rome in Italy.

Jessica also studied with the Moscow Art Theatre School. As a result of her theatre training at the Moscow Art Theatre School and Yale University, she espouses the principles of Stanislavsky and Earle Gister.

Wherever in the world she is, Jessica aims to create theatre that provokes thought, conversation, action, and adventure

As a teacher, she strives to make her classroom a safe space for students. To do so, she keeps judgment and negativity at the door. As an artistic advocate, Jessica encourages and supports artists in theatre, music, fine arts and all arts. She worked in casting and has a knack for matching actors to roles. Currently, she is completing her dissertation on Venezuelan female filmmakers. Jessica admits to, at times, being a dreamer, but she is disciplined, hard-working and has traditional and firm foundations in the field.
